Holy Carrots, Kurt and Trip to SLC !!!

On September 18th we headed to SLC for an overnight trip. We went to Picturelines Digitalfest to purchase some studio lights. We had a free room coming so we decided that we would use it then and let the kids have one last fun weekend before winter arrives. So we stayed the night at a hotel, took the kids the Chuck E Cheese, and did some swimming, and a trip to Cabela's. It was a fun weekend except for when we went to leave the hotel parking lot that morning the jeep wouldn't start. After 2 1/2 hours we had replaced the battery and were on our way. Me and the kids hung out in the parking lot for those 2 hrs while Jedd went here and there trying to get the jeep up and running again. We had already checked out of our room. Kurt did much better this time sleeping. He slept until 3 am and then had a 2 hr intermission before we went back to bed. We made him a bed on the couch and then pushed it up along side our bed.

Kurt sporting some cool shades.

The Garden- This years garden was way better than last years. We had plentiful potatoes, carrots and zucchini. The corn didn't do so hot, nor the onions. The raspberries and strawberries were just starts so hopefully next year we will have some of those. We also planted pumpkins and decorative gourds. We have about 15 pumpkins, not to bad.
We also had a zucchini plant that would grow an albino one every once and a while. I didn't plant any squashes so I don't know where it came from.

The girls loved helping pick the garden but wouldn't eat any of it. They are so picky with there vegetables. They kept picking the onions before they were ready, maybe that is why they didn't turn out to hot.

I had zucchini coming out my ears. I made almost every zucchini dessert you could think of. I have even froze some. I am all zucchinied out.

Now the carrots, they are interesting. We apparently cant grow long skinny carrots, just short FAT ones. I couldn't believe some of the ones we would pull.

90% of the carrots were short and fat, a few were other sizes. When we we picking all the carrots we had picked the biggest one ever and then the smallest one ever. All shapes and sizes at the household.

Some even had 4-5 things coming out the bottom instead of one. We definitely grow an interesting batch of carrots. Wonder if Bugs Bunny would approve.

Been gone a while.....

Kurt enjoying some corn on the cob from the garden. We had a great garden this year much better than last year.
The girls put WAY to much bubble bath in my jetted tub....opps..... And tired lil Kurt in the chair.

Took the kids to Lava right before school for one last vacation. Camped and the kids loved the pool and Ella loved the speed slides.

The girls had swim lessons in July which they love. Ella passed level 2 but Becca need to give it another try next year.
